It’s not uncommon for new handsets to ship ahead of the official release date. Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Note 8 is going to be released in the United States on September 15th. However, some customers have started receiving emails from the company confirming that their units have been shipped. These customers purchased their Galaxy Note 8s from Samsung.com.

We see this happening often with Samsung devices. The company’s carrier partners often ship its new flagship smartphones ahead of the official release date. They’re likely to do that with the Galaxy Note 8 as well.

Samsung started taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 8 on August 24th, a day after the handset was unveiled. It announced that the handset would be officially released on September 15th. You’ll be able to walk into a store and purchase a unit after that.

Several customers who pre-ordered a unit on Samsung.com have now reported on reddit that the company has sent them emails confirming that their order has shipped. If that really is the case then they should be receiving the new Galaxy Note 8 in a couple of days.

Are you one of those customers who has received an email confirming that their Galaxy Note 8 order has shipped? Let us know by dropping a comment below.
