If you have recently bought or are planning to buy the Apple Watch Series 3, it seems that Apple has recently identified a problem with the display that appears to be affecting some units. In a report from 9to5Mac, it appears that some Apple Watch Series 3 owners are seeing weird stripes show up along the side of the watch’s display.

The report also claims that Apple has since notified its retail and authorized third-party repair staff about the problem that seems to affect the Apple Watch Series 3 GPS models. It also does not mention the cellular version, so it is possible that this could be a WiFi-only model problem due to the different configuration of the components within the watch itself, but we suppose we’ll have to wait and see if there are any reports that surface following this.

It is unclear as to what could have caused the issue, but Apple has suggested that customers attempt to rub their finger along the display of the watch to allowing smearing to appear to help the stripes be identified easily. Alternatively they can just breathe on the display edge to help achieve the same effect. If you’re wondering if your Apple Watch has been affected, these tests should help identify that problem.

Right now Apple isn’t performing repairs but is apparently offering complete replacements, so if you do have such a problem then replacing it should not be an issue.
