Facebook Messenger has allowed users to send and receive money since 2015. However, that implementation is a bit different. The latest allows users to use one of the most popular payment services on the planet to send and receive money in Facebook Messenger. The social network’s messaging service now allows its users to do this via PayPal.

PayPal partnered with Facebook Messenger last year to enable its users to shop on Messenger using PayPal. It was also enabled as a means of communication for PayPal users. PayPal has now expanded its relationship with Facebook Messenger.

Users will now have the option to send and request money in Messenger using their PayPal account. This integration is live for users in the United States now. Using this feature is simple enough.

Users just have to tap on the blue plus icon and select the green Payments button to quickly send or request money. They just have to choose PayPal as the funding source. This feature can be used for transactions between two people or a group of people.

Facebook Messenger previously made users link a debit card or bank account to their Facebook account if they wanted to send and receive money. The integration with PayPal eliminates this step for users in the United States.
