Different users have different needs and/or wants when it comes to their smartphones. For example those working outdoors might require a phone that’s rugged, students who a budget might want a phone that’s cheap, and there are also different needs when you’re a regular consumer versus one who wants a phone for enterprise purposes.

Both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 8 have clearly been designed for regular users in mind, but it seems that Samsung has decided to cater to enterprise users as well as the company has since launched the Enterprise Edition of both handsets. In terms of specs and design, they’re identical to the regular Galaxy S8 and Note 8 phones.

The main difference is in its software where they will come with a 3 year license for Knox Configure and Enterprise Firmware OTA updates. They will be on the receiving end of security patches every month for the next 3 years, and the warranty on the phones will also be extended to 3 years instead of 2.

The Enterprise Editions appear to be currently only available in Germany and there is no word on whether it will find its way to other parts of Europe or even stateside, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for that possibility.
