If you’ve enjoyed Marvel’s TV series on Netflix such as Jessica Jones, then you will be pleased to learn that in a tweet by the show’s lead actress Krysten Ritter, it looks like the second season of Jessica Jones has been confirmed for a release in 2018. Prior to this we knew that a second season was confirmed, but a release date was unknown.

Ritter’s tweet does not mention any specific dates either, but we guess we can expect it in 2018.  Given that this year we are expected to see the release of The Punisher TV series also on Netflix, we guess it makes sense that Jessica Jones will only be released next year. Other Marvel TV series whose second seasons have been confirmed include Luke Cage and Iron Fist, which will hopefully redeem itself in the second season as the first season wasn’t as well-received compared to the rest.

The last time we saw Jessica Jones on the screen was in The Defenders miniseries which was released earlier this year, which saw Jones paired up with the rest of the Marvel characters such as Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. It will be interesting to see how the universe is expected to move forward, especially when Disney recently announced their own video streaming service and where they also confirmed that Marvel shows will be an exclusive to their service.

We know that Netflix is hoping to work something out with Disney, but if they don’t we’re not sure what the fate of these TV series will be.
