Microsoft is gradually rolling out its Cortana personal assistant to more services and today it has announced that Cortana is now available in Skype. Cortana in Skype will make it easier for users to find information and search for what they’re looking for without having to leave the conversation. Microsoft says that it’s bringing Cortana to Skype to help users in their everyday conversations.

Since it has in-context assistance, Cortana can suggest useful information based on the chat such as movie reviews and restaurant suggestions. It can also suggest smart replies so users can quickly shoot off messages without having to type.

Cortana is capable of detecting when the user is talking about scheduling events or things that they have to it. It will automatically recommend setting up a reminder which will be synced to all devices that have Cortana enabled.

Microsoft’s assistant will also be listed as a contact in Skype. Users can have natural one-on-one conversations with Cortana and get answers to questions, get it to check flight status, give stock quotes, suggest restaurants, and more.

Cortana in Skype will be rolled out gradually. It’s available to iOS and Android users in the United States starting today. It will be rolled out to more platforms in additional countries across the globe down the road.
