The checkout experience can often be quite frustrating when you’re shopping for something online via your smartphone or tablet. Customers normally have to fill in a couple of forms and may even have to jump back and forth in some instances just to get everything in order. Google highlighted a new way to speed up this experience earlier this year. Called Pay with Google, it’s live now to speed up online checkout.

Pay with Google enables users to checkout quickly with any debit or credit card in their Google Account from services like Google Play, Chrome, YouTube, and Android Pay.

The payment information and shipping address is sent to the merchant by Google using the information on the user’s account. This eliminates the need to punch in payment and shipping details. The merchant then handles all the details like it would with any other purchase.

Pay with Google can be used to checkout in Android apps or on the web with Google Chrome. The feature is supported by popular services like Instacart, Kayak, Postmates, Wish, Fancy, and more. Additional services like Airbnb, StubHub, TicketCamp, and Deliveroo will be included in the list as well soon.

Google is offering its Google Payment API to developers who want to integrate this functionality into their apps. They can implement it with just a few lines of code and Google won’t charge them any transaction fees.
