The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is still probably a year or so away from being announced. Pretty much nothing about it is known at this point in time (although we have heard that it could feature an under-display fingerprint sensor), but if there is one piece of official confirmation that we know about, it is that Samsung will be improving on the S Pen feature of the phone.

This is during an interview with Samsung execs BJ Kang and Cue Kim, of Samsung Electronics’ Global Product Planning Group, Mobile Communications Business where they explained how Samsung had approached the design of the Note 8, and what they have done to improve it, and how they are looking towards the future.

According to Kang, Samsung had already begun looking at the Note 9 and aren’t taking any breaks. “We are already considering how to approach the development of the next Note by evaluating the latest model and looking for ways to improve upon signature features like the S Pen. We will continue to keep users’ needs as our number one priority, and will innovate accordingly.”

The S Pen has been pretty much a staple of the Note series since it was launched. For the most part the S Pen and its features have remained relatively the same over the years, with some slight upgrades here and there, but maybe next year we might see something quite different brought to the table.
