If you’re someone who shares YouTube videos often, you know that sharing to apps like iMessage can be a bit slow and cumbersome, but not anymore because in an update to the YouTube app on iOS, YouTube has made sharing a lot easier as users now have an option to share with a direct-to-Messages sharing option.

When watching a video, all users have to do is click the Share button which will now reveal that Messages will be one of the options that users can choose from. It does seem a bit strange that YouTube took this long to make sharing to Messages, but either way we guess it is here. The best part is that the video can be played directly within Messages itself, meaning that the recipient of the video won’t have to leave the conversation with you in order to view it.

This is a great feature for those who don’t want to break off from current conversations just to watch a video. In addition to the support for iMessage, the update to YouTube has also added some new gestures for removing videos from playlists. That being said, the update should already be live so if you have yet to update the app, then head on over to the iTunes App Store to get your hands on it.
