If you were hoping to get your hands on the Apple TV with 4K in time for the holidays, you might be out of luck. It seems that it has been recently noticed that the 64GB model on Apple’s Online Store is listing a 4-5 week shipping time frame, which means that if you wanted it for Christmas, even at its earliest it probably won’t arrive in time.

Note that this only applies to the 64GB model and that the 32GB model is listed as shipping in 1-3 days, so there’s always that if you want it. Alternatively you could try buying the 64GB model from third-party retailers who might have it in stock. At this point it is unclear as to why the 64GB model is facing such huge delays.

Typically such delays might indicate that Apple is low on stock pending a product refresh, but given that the Apple TV 4K was launched not too long ago, we doubt a refresh is in the works, at least not anytime soon. It is possible that Apple could have hit some kind of production or logistics issue with the 64GB model, hence the delay.

If you don’t mind waiting we suppose you could place an order now, although like we said, there are plenty of third-party retailers who have the Apple TV 4K in stock, so you could always check with them if they have the 64GB model in stock if you want it earlier.
