The way people watch video now is very different from back in the day. The younger generation is particularly difficult to tap through conventional TV services as they prefer viewing content on mobile devices. No wonder networks have started creating original programming for platforms like Facebook and Snapchat. ESPN has seen the writing on the wall as well so it has launched SportsCenter on Snapchat.

The new SportsCenter show on Snapchat will bring new shows twice a day at 5 AM and 5 PM on weekdays and once at 5 AM on weekends. SportsCenter on Snapchat is the first ever daily sports show on the platform.

Each show will be three to five minutes in length and will include a combination of the latest in sports news, highlights, and commentary.

A dynamic roster of ESPN talent will host SportsCenter on Snapchat. The first show will be hosted by Emmy-winning sports personality Katie Nolan who join ESPN only recently. Others include Elle Duncan, Cassidy Hubbarth, Jason Fitz, and Cy Amundson.

Snapchat added shows to its Discover platform last year. It has already worked with leading networks to bring original programming and will continue to expand shows into a wide variety of genres. Snapchat is even looking into scripted content.
