Smartphone makers usually keep their best features for their flagship phones, and we guess it makes sense because customers shopping for low-end or mid-range handsets might be more concerned about price and less about features. However the good news is that 2018’s Samsung Galaxy A5 could borrow some high-end specs.

According to the latest reports, it has been suggested that the Galaxy A5 (2018) model could feature an infinity display, something that Samsung has used in the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 models. This is based on a recent HTML5 test in which it revealed the alleged resolution of the phone to be 412 x 816, which gives it an 18.5:9 ratio, similar to that of Samsung’s current flagships.

This is not the first time we are hearing about the Galaxy A5 (2018). In fact last month alleged renders of the handset were leaked and from what we can tell, Samsung has ditched the home button and moved the fingerprint sensor to the back, which seems to be in line with the latest reports of it sporting an infinity display.

Samsung’s Galaxy A-series of smartphones is the company’s mid-range lineup of phones, and in the past there have been other models that were part of it, like the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A7. It is unclear if the infinity display will be limited to the Galaxy A5 (2018) or if it will be brought over to other models as well.
