A new file manager app by Google called Files Go for Android devices was spotted last week. There are already a plethora of file manager apps available for Android devices but an official option from Google will certainly attract interest. Google pulled the app from the App Store soon after it was spotted but since the cat is out of the bag, it has decided to open up the beta to more users.

The screenshots revealed that the Files Go app will enable users to manage files on their handsets as well as share files between devices even when they don’t have an internet connection.

Google VP Caesar Sengupta has confirmed that the Files Go app exists, albeit in beta, and that since people have found the app it has decided to make it available “for a few more of you” on the Play Store.

The app is listed as “unreleased” on the Play Store but Google is running an early access program that allows people to sign up to test this app. It’s unclear if Google will add any more spots once the remaining spots have been filled.

Those who are interested in checking it out and now head over to its Play Store listing. Google is yet to confirm when Files Go is going to be out of beta.
