Merely days after Razer confirmed the various camera software improvements that it will be rolling out for its first smartphone in the coming weeks, OnePlus has confirmed that it’s also working on a number of OnePlus 5T camera improvements that it’s going to roll out for its new handset in the next firmware update. This was confirmed by OnePlus CEO Carl Pei on the company’s official forums.

The camera is one of the few things that are new in the OnePlus 5T compared to its predecessor. It features a 20 megapixel sensor instead of the OnePlus 5’s telephoto lens and the company has said that the new dual camera system captures more light and thus performs better in low-light situations.

Pei confirmed that the team is working to further improve the camera performance of the OnePlus 5T. The team is working on improving low light photography, particularly the detail that’s captured. Selfies will be improved as well to have a more natural exposure. The Beautification mode will be only on by default in select markets in Asia going forward.

He confirmed that these camera improvements will be tested among a private group in the coming days. OnePlus is going to release this update for the OnePlus 5T in early December.
