Earlier this month, OnePlus launched their latest flagship in the form of the OnePlus 5T. However it seemed that ahead of its launch, there were rumors that OnePlus could be working with Disney to create a limited edition Star Wars version of the phone, although that hasn’t really panned out since.

However it has been reported that over in China, OnePlus has taken the wraps off a new color variant for the OnePlus 5T which they are calling Lava Red. At the moment it seems that this color scheme is exclusive to China, and will only be offered in the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option, which is more expensive than the 6GB RAM/64GB configuration.

That being said, the folks at Ausdroid have speculated that maybe this could be the limited edition version of the phone that was previously rumored. According to the earlier report, there was evidence of a OnePlus 5T Star Wars phone, thanks to sightings in the code which mentioned “Star Wars”, plus a color code that is similar to the red used in Star Wars: The Last Jedi posters.

It is possible that the phone could find its way stateside where it could be launched as a Star Wars Edition phone in time for The Last Jedi, but until that happens maybe don’t get your hopes up just yet.
