It was confirmed when Microsoft became the official publisher of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds that the title would be released for the Xbox One. It was initially said that the game would be released for the console in 2017 and Microsoft has now provided that confirmed release date for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

Microsoft has confirmed that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is going to be released for the Xbox One on December 12th, 2017. The title will be available via the Xbox Game Preview program. What that means is that this iteration of the game is not final just like its counterpart for the PC.

“Various Xbox One features and functionality will change and come online over time just like they have on PC, with our goal being to have both versions align to each other as soon as possible,” revealed Chang Han Kim, the CEO of PUBG Corp.

The title was first launched for the PC earlier this year in March. It has proven to be very popular. The title itself has sold more than 8 million copies and it overtook Dota to become the most played game in August.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a competitive shooter game in which 100 players are dropped into a map and they have to loot the cities and towns for weapons, armor, and other items. They have to fight to the finish with the map shrinking around the players to force them into battle.
