Tesla recently unveiled their new Roadster which they are calling the world’s fastest production car, with claims that the car will be able to go from 0-60mph in under 2 seconds. This actually doesn’t come as a surprise as Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk had teased the feature several years ago which is being dubbed as “Plaid” mode.

Unfortunately the price of the Tesla Roadster at $200,000 makes it a bit out of reach for most of us, which means that we’ll never get to experience this “Plaid” mode that the company is talking about, however the good news is that the folks at DragTimes have put together a video in which they demonstrate Plaid mode, thanks to Tesla allowing several attendees of its event to get a test ride.

It should be noted that Tesla already has a “Ludicrous” mode for its vehicles that allows it to go pretty fast, but it seems that Plaid mode is “next level”. While we’re not sure if it really manages to go from 0-60mph in 1.9 seconds, it is clear from their faces in the car that it is pretty damn fast! In the meantime heading in the opposite direction, Tesla had also previously announced a “chill” mode which allows for a more gentle acceleration for those who don’t really see the need for speed.
