Fans of Pokemon have probably heard that there are a couple of new Pokemon-related movies in the pipeline. For instance there is the live-action Detective Pikachu movie, which last we heard was scheduled for a release in 2019. However if you didn’t want to wait so long, then you might be interested in next year’s animated Pokemon movie.

In fact it seems that a teaser for the upcoming movie has been released which gives us a glimpse as to what we can expect. Now if you’ve watched the trailer and you’re wondering how come it looks a little different, at least compared to other animated Pokemon movies, it is because Attack on Titan’s Wit Studio has a hand in its production, alongside OLM who has handled previous releases.

The film’s new character designs are handled by Shizue Kaneko, while Kunihio Yuyama has been credited as the movie’s animation supervisor, with Tetsuo Yajima directing it, where he also helped direct the Pokemon XY series and also handled this year’s anniversary movie. We have to say that the movie is looking pretty good and we can’t wait to see it. It is currently set for a release on the 13th of July, 2018 in Japan, although we’re not sure when the movie will find its way to other parts of the world.
