It’s starting to look like the rumors of a Disney acquisition of Fox is starting to peak because according to the latest report from CNBC, it seems that the deal could be announced as soon as this Thursday, which is tomorrow. This is in line with CNBC’s earlier report last week which suggested that Disney was closing in on the deal.

For those hearing about this for the first time, last month there were rumors that Disney could be looking to buy out Fox, or at least some of it, such as the company’s television and studio production assets, leaving Fox with just the news and sports. However the initial report claimed that talks had stalled, suggesting that maybe the deal might not go through after all, at least until last week’s report that revealed that an official announcement could be getting close.

It is unclear how much the deal could cost Disney, but estimates have indicated that Fox’s assets could be worth $60 billion, but exactly how much Disney could end up paying remains to be seen. Assuming this deal goes through, it would be a huge deal for Disney as it means that they’ll have more IPs under their belt.

It would also herald the return of some of Marvel’s IPs, such as X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool, which could potentially see them folded into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future. In any case if the rumors are true, we guess we’ll find out as soon as tomorrow, so check back with us then for the details.
