If you’re a fan of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy franchise, there’s a chance that you’ve played the games and watched the movies, but in case that wasn’t enough, perhaps you might want to book a trip to Japan in 2018 because it has been announced that Universal Studios Japan will be getting a Final Fantasy ride.

Dubbed the Final Fantasy XR Ride, this ride will be kicking off on the 19th of January, 2018 where it will be part of the theme park’s annual “Cool Japan” event. This means that this is a limited-run event and is expected to run until the 24th of June, 2018, so if you have no travel plans for 2018, perhaps a trip to the theme park could be something worth looking at.

Final Fantasy XR Ride will be a virtual reality enabled roller coaster ride, which should help to increase the immersiveness of the ride in general, although we imagine that there might be some theme park goers who might get some motion sickness from it. From what we can tell in the trailer above, it looks like a pretty cool ride. Universal Studios Japan is located in Osaka and also plays home to other attractions such as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, and more.
