If you’re interested in trying out the latest Instagram features before they’re rolled out to all users and happen to own an Android device, you’ll be delighted to find out that Instagram has now opened an alpha program for its Android app. What that means is that select users will be able to try out the new features and improvements that Instagram developers well before they’re released for all users across the globe.

An Instagram employee posted on the r/Android subreddit on Reddit looking for people willing to participate in the alpha program. A subreddit mod also confirmed that the poster does indeed work for Instagram so the offer is legit.

Those who would like to get a spot on the alpha program can use the Google Groups link to enroll. They have to enter their email to join the group.

Once that’s done, they will have to join the Instagram testing program on the Google Play Store. It’s easy to do that since it only requires the click of a button.

The alpha program will give participants access to new Instagram features before everyone else. However, they will likely have to put up with bugs that are not uncommon in the early stages of development.
