If you head on over to the Explore section of Instagram, you will discover a variety of posts that might seem random, but are actually based on posts that Instagram thinks you like based on posts that you’ve previously liked, or based on the people you follow. Now it looks like Instagram is testing bringing some of those features into your main feed.

This is according to a report from The Verge in which Instagram has confirmed that they are indeed testing the feature out. According to Instagram, “We’re always testing new ways to connect you to interesting content on Instagram.” Whether or not this feature will make the final cut remains to be seen since Instagram does test out features from time to time.

While this is an interesting idea, we reckon that it does seem to have potential to clutter the user’s feed, which right now is interspersed with posts from people they follow, sponsored content, and also preview tiles for Stories. The addition of recommended content could make things more confusing, but like we said, the feature is in testing so perhaps it will eventually be refined further.

Last we checked, Instagram was also testing out other features like a native “regramming” button that has yet to be released. The company also recently rolled out a new feature that allows users to follow hashtags, a feature that was spotted in testing just last month.
