Voice control certainly does make a lot of things more convenient, and if you’re someone who enjoys watching Twitch streams, wouldn’t it be awesome if you could control Twitch using your voice? The good news is that you can as long as you own an Alexa-enabled device, thanks to Twitch launching its own skill for the Amazon digital assistant.

According to Twitch’s blog, “We’re super excited to announce the launch of our Twitch Skill on all Alexa-enabled devices in the U.S. Now your dream of controlling Twitch with your voice (you’ve had that dream, right?) can become reality. The Twitch Skill lets you play your favorite channels, discover new streamers, get notified when your favorite channels start streaming, and get a reminder when your Twitch Prime subscription is available to use.”

Some of the features supported in the skill include being able to ask Alexa to list you the channels that you follow (will require users to link their Twitch account). Users can also ask for channel recommendations based on the game or genre that you’re interested in. However for those who know what they want, they can ask Alexa to play a channel directly by its name. The skill should already be live, so if you own an Alexa-enabled device, you will have to add the skill to your list and you should be good to go.
