The Axon 7 happens to be one of ZTE’s most popular smartphones. The company has good news for those who bought this handset. ZTE has confirmed that the Axon 7 Android 8.0 Oreo update release is going to take place soon. It’s already developing the Oreo update for the Axon 7. ZTE says that it’s going to have the update ready “as soon as possible.”

There aren’t a lot of devices from third-party OEMs out there that have been updated to Android 8.0 Oreo. Google released the latest iteration of its Android platform a few months ago and it has largely been limited to the company’s own handsets.

That’s not to say other manufacturers aren’t preparing the update for their handsets. Many, including the likes of Samsung, are running beta programs for the Oreo update that will be released for their flagship handsets in the coming weeks.

ZTE has now confirmed that it’s developing Android 8.0 Oreo for the Axon 7. It also says that it’s trying to get the update out to customers as soon as possible. The company does ask for some time to “perfect” the update.

The representative for ZTE confirmed this on a forum but didn’t provide a confirmed release date. Hopefully, it shouldn’t take more than a few weeks for the ZTE Axon 7 Android 8.0 Oreo update to arrive.
