[CES 2018] Acer unveiled the Switch 7 Black Edition at the IFA 2017 convention in September last year. The company says that this is the world’s first fanless 2-in-1 notebook with discrete graphics. It promises exception performance as it’s powered by 8th Generation Intel Core processors and features Acer’s Dual LiquidLoop fanless cooling technology. Acer has confirmed the U.S. price and availability for the Switch 7 Black Edition at the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 in Las Vegas.

8th Generation Intel Core i7-8550U processor 1.8GHz with Turbo Boost up to 4.0GHz coupled with 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM, a 512GB SSD, and NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics. It also features a 13.5 inch IPS touchscreen display with 2256×1504 pixel resolution and a battery-free stylus powered by Wacom EMR that features 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity.

Connectivity options include 802.11ac Wi-Fi with 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 2 port, Thunderbolt 3, DisplayPort, and USB Charging. It also features a 720p front and full HD 1080p camera on the back.

This is the first device of its kind from Acer to feature the Acer AutoStand. It’s a patented kickstand that can be auto-deployed and auto-retracted. Moreover, the device offers a premium look and feel with its brushed-aluminum finish. It’s also compact and lightweight, measuring only 9.99mm thin and weighing 2.6 lbs.

Acer has confirmed today that the Switch 7 Black Edition is going to be released in the United States this month with prices starting at $1,699.
