Apple is one of those companies where at this point in time, every move they make, the world is watching. This is why we’re sure that there are many out there who are curious to see what Apple could be up to next, whether it be a new iPhone, new iPad, new Mac computer, or maybe something completely unexpected.

Whatever the case is, Apple does appear to be working on something (or several things) because according to a report from Thinknum, there appears to be an uptick of designer jobs opening up at the Cupertino company. Based on their data, Apple has been on the lookout for new designers since October last year, where the number of job positions was at an average of 40, but in recent times it has spiked to 70.

This seems to suggest that either Apple is losing a ton of designers at a rapid rate, or they could be working on something new and exciting and need a lot of designers to help with that. According to Thinknum, the positions Apple is looking to fill include Product Management, motion scientists, product managers, optical engineers, touch ASIC digital architect, iPhone System Engineer, Siri engineers, iPhone product managers, plastic tooling engineers, and prototype iOS Engineers.

Of course it would be impossible to tell what’s going on at Apple at the moment since most companies tend to be pretty hush about their operations until they’re ready to announce something, but it could still be worth looking forward to.
