Warner Bros. has been working on a standalone Flash movie starring Ezra Miller who played the superhero in Justice League. According to the new report, the standalone movie might be directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. They’re no strangers to the comic book world as they’re the ones who wrote the script for Spider-Man: Homecoming which was very well received.

Variety reports that John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are in negotiations to direct the standalone movie that will be called Flashpoint.

The studio had reportedly offered the directing gig to Ben Affleck but he’s said to have passed on the job. If the studio is keen on bringing Daley and Goldstein then it’s possible that the movie might have a comedic tone as evident from their directorial style seen in movies like Vacation and the upcoming Game Night.

The development of this project has reportedly been on hold since director Rick Famuyiwa departed the project. As Warner Bros. started to look for a replacement, it also decided to take the script into a different direction. Joby Harold is said to have delivered a new draft after a page-one rewrite.

Warner Bros. has not commented on the report so there’s no confirmation from the studio as yet regarding who will be in the directors’ chair for this movie.
