[CES 2018] When it comes to gaming PCs and gaming-related accessories and peripherals, there seems to be some kind of “requirement” for them to sport LED lighting on them. This includes PC components like the fan, cooling system, GPU, and so on. Even RAM modules aren’t spared from this current design trend.

However if you are a fan of the LED lighting on your PC components, you’ll be pleased to learn that HyperX has announced their new Predator DDR4 RAM modules which will feature synchronized RGB lighting. According to HyperX, this is accomplished using infrared light that will help them synchronize their lights, and will draw power directly from the motherboard meaning that there will be no need for extra cables.

In addition to the synchronization, HyperX is also stated that the new modules will support multiple lighting profiles when plugged into compatible motherboards that feature RGB control software. According to Kristy Ernt, business manager, HyperX, “Synchronizing HyperX Predator DDR4 RGB memory using IR technology creates a new way to experience RGB lighting on a PC and enables gamers and overclockers to further personalize their gaming experience.”

The HyperX Predator DDR4 modules will be made available in the second quarter of the year, but no word on pricing just yet. However we expect that given the cosmetic flairs, it will probably cost a bit more than your regular RAM modules.
