There have been a lot of contradictory reports about the LG G7 recently. It was first believed that the successor to the LG G6 would be unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona as many would have expected. It was then reported that perhaps LG will launch it a month or two earlier. We then heard reports that LG had sent the device back to the drawing board so it may be a while before we saw the LG G7. According to a new report, the LG G7 launch remains “on schedule.”
A report published yesterday doubled down on claims that the LG G7 won’t be out soon and claimed that the company will unveil a new variant of the LG V30 at MWC 2018 instead next month. It was claimed that an LG V30 with “enhanced AI” will be unveiled at MWC 2018 in February.
The report didn’t really go into a lot of details about what this enhanced artificial intelligence is going to bring to the table so it’s all up in the air at this point in time. LG has said nothing about its MWC 2018 plans so far.
Android Central has reportedly heard from an LG representative who said that the LG G6’s successor is “on schedule.” There have been reports that this device might not be called the LG G7 and the representative has alluded to those reports by saying that “the official name will be announced when the time is right,” adding that “until then, reports of a decision being made on the timing and name are all speculative.”
It’s all very confusing at this point in time, LG will hopefully not take too long to set the record straight.
