Monster Hunter: World appears to be taking the world by storm soon after its launch. It has only been three days since this title was released and Capcom has revealed that it has moved five million units of Monster Hunter: World merely three days after the game was launched. The figure combines shipments across the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It also includes digital download sales on both gaming platforms.

This new title has set the series record for being the fastest-selling title ever since the series was first launched in 2004. It’s the only Monster Hunter game that has shipped the most copies in its first three days after launch.

The game has been launched to good reviews. There’s no doubt that fans of the series have been waiting for it anxiously. It’s the first new console version of the RPG series in almost a decade.

It’s a good sign for the series that Monster Hunter: World has seen such a good response from the community so soon after its launch. While the series has traditionally been quite popular in Japan, the latest title’s performance shows that the small yet passionate fanbase that Monster Hunter had in Western markets is now expanding.

The title is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One right now and it’s also going to be released for the PC later this year in the fall.
