DJI recently announced that it’s going to conduct an event on January 23rd and while it hasn’t confirmed what this event is going to be about, there has been speculation that the company is going to unveil a new drone. It appears that the new DJI drone has been leaked ahead of its official unveiling. A new report has surfaced which brings us quite a lot of information about DJI’s new product.

The new DJI drone is reportedly going to be called the DJI Mavic Air. It’s going to be unveiled tomorrow officially at the company’s event in New York City. The report mentions that the DJI Mavic Air features a 32 megapixel camera with panorama mode. It’s a 1/2.3 CMOS sensor with a new Image Signal Processor, capable of recording 4K video at 60 frames per second.

It will feature a 3-way gimbal and four foldable legs like the Mavic Pro. The drone will have sensors for obstacle avoidance, a visual positioning system for improved control, gesture control, and will be compatible with DJI Goggles. The battery will provide 21 minutes of flying time.

It’s unclear right now just how long the range is going to be, whether it’s going to be up to 4.3 miles like the Mavic Pro or 1.2 miles like the Spark. The report also doesn’t reveal how much this drone is going to cost.

We won’t have to wait for too long, though, as the official announcement is due to be made tomorrow.
