Recently it was announced and confirmed that the Nintendo Switch is the fastest-selling console in the US, but as it turns out that the Switch is doing pretty well for itself over in Canada too. According to Nintendo Canada, it turns out that the Switch is the fastest-selling console in the country as well.

In a statement made to MobileSyrup, Pierre-Paul Trepanier, Nintendo of Canada’s general manager and senior director said, “The response that the Nintendo Switch has received from Canadians has been nothing short of spectacular. We’re thrilled to have seen such record-breaking momentum in 2017.” This is based on data provided by market research firm NPD.

Trepanier did not provide details on the console, such as how many units might have been sold in the country, but what we do know is that Nintendo has so far managed to sell over 10 million units of the Switch, and they also appear to be on track to beat the Wii U’s lifetime sales, which managed a little over 13 million over 5 years or so. So far the Switch has been receiving some pretty rave reviews, with Nintendo recently launching the Labo, a new experimental way that players can interact with the console.
