OnePlus had earlier confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will be launched in the second quarter of 2018, which is in line with the company’s previous flagship which launched in June 2017, which suggests that OnePlus is basically keeping to tradition/habit in their phone releases, but apparently they plan to break tradition this year.

OnePlus for the past couple of years has been releasing two phones a year, like the OnePlus 3T and the OnePlus 5T, and if you were hoping for the OnePlus 6T, you might be disappointed. This was revealed in an interview with CNET where OnePlus CEO Pete Lau indicated that the company wasn’t 100% sure about releasing a second phone for 2018.

Note that OnePlus isn’t saying that they won’t, but rather they are unsure if they will. The interview did not reveal why OnePlus might be changing up their plans or what the reason might be behind not releasing a second phone, but for now it seems that it is not a guarantee that they will.

It is possible that given OnePlus doesn’t have access to the same amount of resources that companies like Apple or Samsung that they are being more selective of what they release, choosing to focus on one handset instead of multiple. Either way we’ll have to wait and see, but if OnePlus skips on the OnePlus 6T, would you be disappointed?
