Samsung’s Foldable Phone Made A Secret Appearance At CES 2018

Whispers that Samsung could have a truly foldable phone in the works have been circulating for years, with every year a new report seemingly hinting that the device could be unveiled the next year. However it’s starting to feel like this year could be the year, because according to a report from Korean publication ET News, Samsung actually showed off the handset in secret at CES.

The report claims that Samsung gave select clients a sneak peek at what they have been working on at CES which took place this week. Apparently there were two models that were shown off, one of which is a phone that folds outwards, and another that folds inwards. It is also said that the outfolding phone is more of an advanced technology and might not debut so soon.

Of course since no one can confirm that this meeting actually took place, it’s hard to say if it is true at all. However like we said, this isn’t the first time we’re hearing rumblings of a foldable phone from Samsung, so we wouldn’t be completely surprised if the report had some elements of truth to it.

That being said, Samsung’s rival LG has shown off a 65-inch OLED that can be rolled up and down like a set of blinds, indicating that it is possible to create such flexible displays. In the meantime it is said that Samsung’s foldable phone is expected to only debut at the end of the year.
