Several years ago, Samsung launched an app called Game Recorder+. This was an app designed to help Android users record their mobile gaming sessions, whether it be to create tutorials, playthroughs, and so on. However it seems that three years later, Samsung is done with the app and will be shutting it down.

The company has announced that starting 28th of February, 2018, they would be shutting the app down. The message the developers had for users reads, “Hello, this is the Game Recorder+ service team. Game Recorder+ will be closed on 02/28/2018. Users who already have Game Recorder+ installed on their phones will not be able to record games from 02/28. Please use another screen recording app.”

This is a bit of a bummer, but it is clear that Samsung has moved on from the app as the company has since launched a new alternative app in 2017 called Samsung Game Live. The app is similar to Game Recorder+ where it can record your game and also help users post the streams onto various platforms, like Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, and so on.

Alternatively if you just want to record your screen, you’ll be able to find out more on how to do so in our tutorial on screen recording for Android.
