Last year there were rumors claiming that Sony’s 2018 smartphones could feature the use of OLED displays. That hasn’t exactly come to pass with the launch of the Xperia XA2, but then again it is possible that Sony might be reserving the use of the technology for their flagship handsets.

Now thanks to a recently discovered job listing (via Xperia Blog), it seems that there is more evidence of this being true. The job listing is calling for a “Display engineer” where it states that having experience with OLED technology as being a “must”. The listing was said to have been posted in November 2017, and is set to expire in February, which coincidentally enough is when MWC is taking place.

Of course whether or not this alleged Sony smartphone with an OLED display will be announced then remains to be seen. It is unclear as to how far along Sony is with their OLED development, and whether or not it will be able to make it in time for MWC. An alternative is at IFA 2018 which is scheduled for the later part of the year, although we’re hoping that we won’t need to wait too long for that to happen, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info.
