MWC is kicking off next month and we expect that the event will see a lot of phones being announced. For those who are fans of Sony’s handsets, you’ll be pleased to learn that despite the company’s reduced focus in major markets, they are still pushing out handsets and that they will be in attendance at the event.

The company has recently confirmed its press conference that will be held at MWC 2018 for the 26th of February. Based on this conference, we can only assume that Sony will have new smartphones to announce at the event, although what smartphones will be announced is still anyone’s guess.

However if recent rumors are to be believed, Sony will be announcing a new flagship in the form of the Xperia XZ Pro. Some of the highlight features (rumored) of the handset include a 4K display, and also the use of OLED technology, which is actually something we have been hearing about.

However it should also be noted that since Sony joined forces with Toshiba and Hitachi to form Japan Display Inc., which at the moment seems to be primarily focused on producing LCDs, it does seem a bit odd that Sony would source from outside companies, but either way take it with a grain of salt for now and we’ll wait until MWC for the official details.
