The original iterations of the Tomb Raider video game franchise was somewhat lighthearted compared to the remake of the series. The remake presents itself as a darker game and where Lara Croft shows a more vulnerable side to her character, which we guess in a way draws the gamer in.

This has since led to a remake of the movie series as well, where a teaser trailer was released last year. For those hoping to see a bit more of the movie, you’re in luck as the second trailer for the upcoming movie has since been released. With this particular trailer, it gives us a bit of a backstory to the movie and Lara Croft.

According to the trailer’s description of the movie, “Leaving everything she knows behind, Lara goes in search of her dad’s last-known destination: a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan.  But her mission will not be an easy one; just reaching the island will be extremely treacherous.”

So far the trailer does a good job at hyping up the movie, but we suppose that’s kind of the point to begin with. The movie will star Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, along with Daniel Wu, Dominic West, Walton Goggins, and Kristin Scott Thomas. It is currently set for a release on the 16th of March, 2018.
