Verizon split up its unlimited plan into three tiers last year – Go Unlimited, Beyond Unlimited, and Business Unlimited – with the price for one line on Go and Beyond being set at $75 and $85 respectively. Each plan has its own set of limitations on video streaming, international usage, and tethering but the carrier has now confirmed that its Go Unlimited subscribers will be able to take advantage of this plan in Canada and Mexico as well.

Verizon has confirmed that starting January 25th, Go Unlimited subscribers will get limited service to Mexico and Canada. This includes both new and existing Go Unlimited subscribers. They will receive unlimited talk and text to and from Canada and Mexico. It goes without saying, there’s a catch.

Subscribers will get 500MB of 4G LTE data per day. The catch is that they can’t use more than that per day because if they do, they’re dropped to 2G. That may be enough for checking Facebook or WhatsApp, but that’s nearly not enough to stream music or TV shows while on vacation down in sunny Mexico.

Verizon also mentions that if more than half of a subscriber’s calling, texting or data usage is in either of those countries during a 60-day period, they might experience these international features of Verizon’s cheapest unlimited plan “removed or limited.”
