According to a recent report, the Xiaomi Mi 7 might not be announced at MWC 2018, which has us wondering what could the company unveil at the event? According to reports, it seems that Xiaomi could instead be launching an upgraded version of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 that was launched last year in the form of the Mi Mix 2S.

If the rumors are true, the Mi Mix 2S will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, which some claim will be the first smartphone to use Qualcomm’s latest chipset. However given that the Galaxy S9 has been confirmed for MWC 2018 as well and is also expected to use the Snapdragon 845, we’re not sure if Xiaomi will indeed be the “first”, although we suppose they could announce it before Samsung which would make them first.

In terms of specs, not much is known about the Mi Mix 2S save for the rumored Snapdragon 845 chipset. However if previous Mi Mix releases are anything to go by, the Mi Mix 2S will most likely carry on the tradition of sporting a near bezel-less display which seems to be the current design trend adopted by many smartphone makers.

Either way it’s probably best to take this with a grain of salt for now, but with MWC taking place in less than a month’s time, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out for ourselves.
