These days it seems to be the “in” thing when it comes to reviving old video game franchises, and Sony’s Crash Bandicoot series was one of them. Just last year the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy was released to great success, which has apparently prompted Activision to think in longer terms.In the latest issue of Licensing Source Book Europe (via JustPushStart), Max Arguile, Licensing Manager of GB Eye has revealed that there will be a new Crash Bandicoot title planned for 2019, but that Activision also has a five-year plan for the franchises, in which presumably more titles will be released.
Arguile was quoted as saying, “The new game was a huge success at retail with no marketing spend. Next year, it will be going broader (Switch and PC) and there will be another game in 2019. Activision has a five year plan for this and GB eye is delighted to be fully on board for all products.”
His statement seems to confirm that the game will not be an exclusive to the PS4 platform, and also that it will arrive on the Nintendo Switch. However this also means that there might not be a Crash Bandicoot title for 2018, so it looks like fans will have to wait one more year.
