Sony’s Crash Bandicoot series was revived last year and after seeing that it had been successful, the publisher hinted at a five year plan for the series which includes an entirely new Crash Bandicoot title for 2019. According to a new report, Activision is thinking along the same lines for Spyro the Dragon trilogy. The company is reportedly working on remastering the title for the PlayStation 4.

Activision may have been enticed by the success of the Crash Bandicoot remaster on PlayStation 4 to go ahead with this project. The title was recently crowned as the best-selling remaster ever for the PlayStation 4. Activision itself said that the sales of this remaster “surpassed our expectations by a wide margin.”

According to a report, Activision is now working on remastering the Spyro series for PS4. Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon games will be included. It’s said to be a remastered trilogy which brings new assets, animations, and a revamped save system.

The adds that Vicarious Visions is working on developing the remastered version, it’s the same studio that did the remaster for Crash Bandicoot as well. The revamped title will apparently be launched with support for the PlayStation Pro.

Activision hasn’t confirmed or denied anything right now but it’s claimed that the title, called Spyro Collection, is going to be announced next month before it’s released in Q3 this year.
