If you’re someone who uses Airbnb frequently when you’re traveling, you might be interested to hear that Airbnb has announced some pretty major changes that they’ll be making to their platform. This will involve introducing new property types, new tier levels, and also new features for people looking to book locations for large-scale events.
Starting with the new property types, before this Airbnb allowed users to choose between booking an entire place, a private room, or shared. However now users have the option of also choosing between Vacation Home, Unique Space, B&B and Boutique. According to Airbnb, “This will give greater choice of accommodation options to guests, provide greater transparency over the types of accommodation available, and help hosts better showcase what’s unique about them to better match with guests’ preferences.”
There will also be the introduction of Airbnb Collections which will expand on what’s being offered and will cater to all kinds of people, including groups such as those looking to book a work retreat, weddings, honeymoons, dinner parties, and so on. Airbnb will also introduce new tiers such as Airbnb Plus which according to the company, includes homes “that have been personally verified for quality and comfort”.
There is also the Luxury tier in which Airbnb users can search for more than just a place to stay, but will allow them to book custom designed trips and stay at some of the finest homes that Airbnb has to offer. Like we said these are pretty huge changes Airbnb is making to its services and offerings, so if you do travel and use the company’s services, it could be worth looking forward to.
