Apple Reportedly Working On Water Resistant AirPods

According to a new report, Apple is working on upgrades for its AirPods wireless headphones. It’s said that the company intends to frequently update the AirPods with new hardware features much like it does with its other wearable devices like the Apple Watch. Apple is reportedly working on a new AirPods model which will be water resistant. It’s expected to release a new version as soon as this year with an upgraded wireless chip.

Bloomberg reports that the new AirPods model due this year will feature voice activation. This will enable users to access Siri without having to physically tap the headphones by just saying “Hey Siri.” It will work in a manner similar to how it does on the iPhone. These headphones are also said to feature a new Apple-designed wireless chip for managing Bluetooth connections.

Apple is expected to launch another new AirPods model in 2019 and this is the one that’s said to be water resistant. It may not be durable enough to be fully submerged in water but the report suggests that it will be able to hold its own against splashes of water and rain.

Apple has not officially commented on this report as yet so take this information with a grain of salt even though the claims made in this report aren’t really that outrageous.
