Exclusives are a good way to draw people onto a particular console. Take for example Halo for the Xbox or Sony’s God of War or Nintendo’s Mario, all of which have managed gamers to pick a particular console. Now it looks like the folks at Bandai Namco could be working on a new exclusive shooter IP for the Nintendo Switch.

While it has yet to be officially revealed/confirmed, this information was revealed through the LinkedIn profile of a certain Shawn Pitman, who is a lead designer working at the company’s Singapore Studios. According to his profile, one of the projects he is working on is an unannounced IP that comes in the form of a FPS/adventure game that will be exclusive to the Switch.

It has been speculated that Bandai Namco could be working on Metroid Prime 4, so there is a chance that Pitman’s LinkedIn profile could be talking about that. Assuming this is accurate, it will be interesting to see more FPS titles arrive for the Switch, especially following the rumors that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 could also be arriving for the console.

Given that Nintendo isn’t exactly known to be a platform for FPS titles, these changes could potentially help to change that perception, but until it is official do take it with a grain of salt.
