In terms of hardware, it is obvious that the Nintendo Switch is an upgrade over its predecessor, the Wii U. So what does this mean for titles like Bayonetta 1 and 2? While the games have yet to be released, the folks at Nintendo World Report TV have uploaded a couple of videos which compares how the game looks like on the Switch versus that of the Wii U.

There are some pretty obvious differences where the Switch is capable of loading the game faster than the Wii U. The games also look different on the Switch compared to the Wii U, with the Switch version appearing to look darker than the Wii U. However as Nintendo World Report TV suggests, it could be due to the differences in recording equipment/tools used to capture the Switch version of the game.

However in a report from Polygon, they confirm that the games do have some performance upgrades. Both titles are expected to run at 720p in terms of resolution, but in terms of framerate they will apparently manage to achieve a buttery-smooth 60fps. Other than that it’s hard to tell if the textures have been improved or upgraded, but in any case gamers should be able to find out soon enough as the games are currently set for a release on the 16th of February. In the meantime Bayonetta 3 is in the works and will be exclusive to the Switch.
