If you take a look at the Final Fantasy franchise, you’ll notice that pretty much all the PC releases from the series are direct ports of the console version, and tend to be released later, meaning that PC gamers had to typically wait quite a bit before they could get their hands on the PC version, and Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition is no exception.

However the good news for Final Fantasy fans is that future Final Fantasy releases could be launched on the PC sooner. This is according to Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition’s programmer Takeshi Aramaki who in an interview with Game Watcher said that there is a good chance that future Final Fantasy games could be launched on the PC sooner than expected.

According to Aramaki, “As a company we have moved on to a strategy of trying to get our games on as many different platforms as possible, in order to reach as big a user base as we can. We’re a lot more pro-active in doing that than we may have been in the past, so it’s a good chance!”

He adds that this is thanks to the team’s experience in adapting Final Fantasy XV’s Luminous engine to the PC, which means that future Final Fantasy games that use the engine will be adapted considerably quicker than before. Of course when the next title will arrive is anyone’s guess, but we suppose it’s still good news.
