Monster movies are always fun to watch, and some of the biggest names we’ve been hearing about in recent times is Kong and Godzilla. The good news is that if you love mashups, you’ll be pleased to learn that the Godzilla VS Kong movie is reportedly set for a release sometime in the year of 2020.

The movie will be directed by Adam Wingard, who for those unfamiliar was behind the Blair Witch movie. No word on the story yet, but some are speculating that it will be predictable that instead of a huge monster versus monster battle, both these legends will end up teaming up and fighting off an even bigger monster. Whether or not that is the case remains to be seen, but we wouldn’t be surprised if that’s how it really plays out.

The movie is also expected to start production on the 1st of October, 2018 in Atlanta, and will film through to February 2019. So why only a release in 2020? It seems that the film will feature a lot of effects and computer graphics, which means that a lot of work will need to be done post-production, which is why it could take some time.

What this means is that it looks like fans hoping to see a trailer of sorts will probably need to wait until 2019 at the earliest. In the meantime Godzilla: King of the Monsters is set for a release on the 22nd of March, 2019, while unfortunately it does not seem like there are plans for a Kong: Skull Island sequel just yet.
