With apps like Apple’s FaceTime, it can be used on multiple devices, such as the iPhone, iPad, and even Mac computers, which is kind of the point as it’s supposed to allow users to be reached across a variety of platforms. Duo, which seems to offer similar functionality, is pretty much limited to single devices.

However that could soon change thanks to a recent APK teardown by the folks at 9to5Google. In their teardown, they discovered that multi-device support could soon be coming to Duo. This is according to a string in the APK that reads, ”If ‘%s’ belongs to you, sign in to use Duo on multiple devices. Or skip if you prefer to use Duo only on this device. To add devices, sign into your Google Account at any time.”

Prior to this and at the launch of Duo, all users got when signing into Duo on multiple devices was a warning that Duo could only be used on one device. It later changed to an advisory saying that your Duo account was signed into another account, which seemed to hint at the direction that Google is heading.

Unfortunately there’s no telling when this feature will be activated, so if you are a Duo user then it could be definitely a feature worth checking out in the future when it releases.
