Given that Android Oreo has already been released, it makes sense that handsets released after that would at least come with the latest version of Android installed. That seems to be the case with the upcoming Huawei P20, at least according to the folks at XDA who claim that the P20 will come with Android 8.1 Oreo preinstalled.

They also claim that the phone will feature EMUI 8.1, which for those unfamiliar is basically Huawei’s own take on Android’s UI. Like we said it doesn’t really come as a surprise that Huawei’s flagship will pack the latest version of Android, but it’s still nice to know anyway and could also be something of peace of mind for users who don’t want to worry about when their phones will be updated to the latest Android build.

In terms of specs and features, not much is known about the P20, save for the possibility and likelihood that it will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, or possibly a chipset of Huawei’s own making. Recent renders have revealed that there could be a triple camera setup on the back, and that the phone could be announced at a separate event in Paris on the 27th of March instead of at MWC 2018.
